Food Safety Courses

BASIC FOOD HYGIENE & HACCP – LEVEL 1

On completion of the Food Hygiene & HACCP Course participants will have acquired the basic level of food safety knowledge appropriate to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland level 1 training guidelines.
The course contents include:
• The importance of food safety
• How bacteria grow & contamination
• Personal hygiene, cleaning and pest control
• Safe food handling and storage
• Introduction to HACCP & Record keeping
• Course assessment

Training Programme Duration: 2.5 hours

Who should attend: New Food handlers, bar staff and refresher training.

Certificates: Certificate will be awarded for the successful completion of the course assessment. Certification is valid for 2 years.

Fee: Price available per course- Up to 15 people or per person in public  courses

Delivery: Available on-line or on site face to face training

LEVEL 2 – Food Safety & Hygiene Course

On completion of the level 2 Food Safety & HACCP Course participants will have acquired an intermediate level of food safety knowledge appropriate to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland level 2 training guidelines. The course provides food workers with the basic principles of food safety and covers the necessary skills required to practice HACCP effectively in the workplace.

The course content include:
• Introduction to food safety & the law
• Basic Microbiology
– Food contamination
• Pre Requisites (cleaning, personal hygiene, pest control. allergens)
• Food delivery, storage, preparation, cooking, service
• HACCP & monitoring of Critical Control Points
• Course assessment

Training Programme Duration: 3.5 hours

Who should attend: All Food handlers, Chefs, Kitchen/ Deli Staff.

Certificates: Certificate will be awarded for the successful completion of the course assessment. Certification is valid for 2 years.

Fee: Price available per course- Up to 15 people or per person in public  courses

Delivery: Available on-line or on site face to face training

Primary Food Safety Level 2 Course
– Certified by Environmental Health Association of Ireland –

The Primary Food Safety Level 2 Course trains food workers in the skills and knowledge of food safety and HACCP.  

Who should take this programme

Anyone who is working with food. Anyone who is looking to improve their employment chances in the food industry. Anyone looking to comply with the legal requirement for training

Training Programme Duration: 1 Full Day

Who should attend:
All Food handlers, Chefs, Kitchen/ Deli Staff who have been employed for over 3 months. These courses provide information on the additional food safety skills that staff should be able to demonstrate after 3 months of commencing employment in a food business.

Certificates: Certificate will be awarded for the successful completion of the EHAI course assessment. Course assessment takes 30 Minutes. Certification is valid for 5 years.

Fee: Price available per person in public  courses

Delivery: On site/ In-Person Classroom training

 Note: 2 weeks notice is required to register all applicants with the EHAI for assessment purposes.

MANAGEMENT OF FOOD SAFETY & HACCP – LEVEL 3

On completion of the food safety & HACCP level 3 training course, participants will have acquired advanced food safety knowledge, appropriate to the FSAI level 3 training guidelines.

The course content includes: 

  • Cost of poor hygiene, 
  • Legislation, 
  • Allergen Awareness, 
  • Food poisoning & bacteria, 
  • Cross Contamination, Traceability, Food delivery & storage, Food preparation, cooking & service, 
  • Personal hygiene, Pest control, Cleaning & Waste Management, 
  • HACCP, Management of the HACCP system, 
  • Written Exam 

Training Programme Duration: 1.5 Days

Who should attend: Chefs, Supervisors, Managers and Food Safety Champions

Certificates: Certificate will be awarded for the successful completion of the course assessment. Certification is valid for 2 years.

ONE DAY- TRAIN THE TRAINER COURSE

On completion of the Train the Trainer Course, participants will have knowledge and experience to effectively deliver training courses. The course contents include:
