I have always had a passion for helping people, to uncover their strengths, and to really inspire and develop people to perform at their absolute best. My mission is to help people find more joyful moments at work and in life and to get through difficult times with compassion and resilience. I believe we can all improve our performance and our happiness through practicing positive life skills by building our emotional resilience.
I spent my childhood in Belfast, Northern Ireland during ‘the Troubles’ of the 1970’s and 1980’s. This was a challenging time, I was surrounded by a lot of pain and conflict, but like most people I had a “get on with it” attitude , blocked out the negativity, supported each other, had great humour and did my absolute best to perform at my best. My childhood allowed me to develop great resilience, with a “can do” attitude, always finding a way to overcome challenges and to bounce back quickly with a smile on my face.
Shortly after leaving university I moved to Dublin to start a career in Dunnes Stores Head Office, and worked there for over 20 years. This was a very challenging yet rewarding role. I have been supporting , motivating, inspiring and engaging employees to work at their best for many years and have worked in both public and private sectors. In Dunnes Stores I developed leaders, to manage performance and engaging employees to deliver exceptional results and create the best possible customer experience. I headed up a team of managers and also designed and managed the selection process for the innovative Best Store of the Year. I have seen that exceptional results can only ever be achieved with great leadership, an engaged workforce which leads to an outstanding customer experience, improving performance and productivity.
I also worked with the Irish Blood Transfusion Board as a Learning and Development specialist, where I researched best practice globally, re-designed and implemented an innovative Performance Development process for employees. This resulted in improved employee engagement and performance.
As a Workplace, Career and Life coach and NLP practitioner I have coached many people and have helped them to develop strategies to help them develop inspiring goals, create a plan and move forward quickly to achieve incredible results. As a EQi 2.0/EQ 360 Emotonal intelligence assessor , we can use assessments to bring awareness and understanding of personality preferences to individuals and teams, so they can form better relationships, be happier and become more effective in what they do.
I was selected by Ibec as a wellbeing assessor for the KeepWell programme where I assess the wellbeing programmes in organisations against a best practice framework. By participating in the KeepWell programme I have gained insights into what works and what doesn’t, what has the biggest impact and value for organisations and what are the best practices to embed an effective wellbeing programme that reduces absenteeism, improves employee wellbeing, and improves performance.
I now work with organisations to help them ensure employees are engaged, perform at their best and deliver exceptional results.
